Curated by TerraCycle, “Scrapped” features artwork created from reclaimed materials made by local and international artists who are employees and friends of the company. This exhibit was designed to encourage viewers to question their day to day lifestyle and their impact on the planet.

TerraCycle is a global company that creates collection and recycling systems for conventionally non-recyclable products and packaging. The company employs 250+ people globally, with 115 employees in its upcycled and artistic 500,000 square foot headquarters in Trenton, NJ.

The exhibition includes works by Leon Rainbow, Ede Sinkovics, as well as TerraCycle employees. All featured artwork is made from reused materials including old toys, beach plastic, wine corks, and cigarette butts.

A special guest installation, titled “Green Palace” will be featured in the Vault. Korean reclaimed graphic artist Heemin Moon collaborated with the International Textile Sourcing Group to create an immersive thought provoking experience.

“Green Palace”

Please take a step into Heemin Moon’s showcase of 3 dimensional shapes incorporating upcycled materials; His creations are a result of his unique whimsical view of man’s best friend and unlikely wildlife in regal surroundings. His art and color vision were rendered for this special TerraCycle / BSB Exhibit.

Dorothy McNee who collaborated with Moon for this installation would like to say special thanks to the members of the A-Team of Pennington:
ALAN, ARI, and SVEIN who have again supported Moon behind the scenes with their craftsmanship.

We welcome “Scrapped” to the BSB as another example of why the Capital City has established itself as an arts destination.
The Trenton Downtown Association opened the BSB Gallery to support Creek to Canal – C2C Creative District – Trenton and provide a platform to showcase all the amazing Trenton artists,” stated Tom Gilmour, Executive Director of the Trenton Downtown Association.

The Trenton Downtown Association is a special improvement district that manages the BSB Gallery and is engaged with many other organizations in repositioning the city for revival. The new gallery is supported by grant funding generously provided by the George H. and Estelle M. Sands Foundation and Isles, Inc. BSB Gallery Regular Hours are Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays are 11 am to 5 pm.
