More than 70 public activities consisting of 32 exhibitions throughout project runtime (co-funded by the EU between August 2017 – March 2019), 25 coproduction activities, 8 conferences/ seminars, 1 lab, 3 open calls, 1 festival, 5 Artists in Residencies with new creations and public art interventions were realized. Furthermore, 45 project videos (documented on our youtube channel), 10 artist videos and 12 university partner videos (shown at Trafoklub cinema in Budapest) were created.
The project stations consist of an exhibition partly with the TOP 100 traveling exhibition presenting selected artists from the first open call, artistic interventions added by inspirational insights and success stories from thought-leaders and change drivers. Co-creation workshops in Hackathon-style follow pecha-kuchas and unite the diverse perspectives and identify promising entrepreneurial opportunities. This way, The Universal Sea enables the development and acceleration of solutions against the plastic epidemic together with the public.
