Katja is an Ocean Advocate, curator and cultural manager. Her main objective is to present contemporary art concerning the ocean to a broad audience to widen the discourse about the many challenges that we face and opportunities we can create. With her background in Design Thinking and studies in Culture and Technology Katja brings a wide understanding to interdisciplinary topics. Katja is a member of the Think Tank 30 of the Club of Rome. In 2013 she founded ‚art objective’, with Dr. Ana Karaminova, an initiative to develop innovative concepts in the context of contemporary art and a network to support emerging artists. Growing up at the Baltic sea Katja had the opportunity to start sailing and since then has sailed across the Atlantic and explored the Mediterranean and Caribbean Seas by boat.
