Description:
The ARTs OF PLASTICS Anatomy Model / sculpture / kojo Biney / Ghana recycling of plastic, rubber materials and debris must be encouraged by all sphere of creative field. Art can indeed make a meaningful contribution to plastic pollution issues around our environment. plastics, rubbers, Polyurethane and Polystyrene (Styrofoam) is used to produce a lot of stuffs which includes disposables cups, a cushion for packages, building insulation panels, in decoration and architecture applications and more. In the production of Fridges, Polyurethane and plastics are used as wall and inner lining before metals are finally used to cover during productions and finally to consumers. It takes so many years for those plastics materials to decompose therefore, poses a threat to our environment. In Ghana and some other countries metal scrap dealers go for used spoiled fridges from various homes, takes the metal covering expose off the rest of the materials (plastics, polyurethane foam and rubbers substance) to the rubbish dump or any place they find it convenient into the environment not thinking of the harm it impose to the environment. Individuals also buy certain home product such as Television set and other large gadget that comes with those materials as a cushion to protect the product; used the product and throws those plastics and rubber materials away. All this causes sanitation problem and poses treat to our environment and finally into the universal sea - when it rains, plastics and debris are washed down to the drainages and finally ends up to the universal sea to reep it purity. As an artist, I seek to explore those materials which pose environmental and sanitation problem to create multipurpose sculptural anatomy models and other materials that can be used as a Teaching learning material (TLM) for schools to teach science and art. The human anatomy model used in various science laboratory in Ghanaian schools are always imported, expensive and is made up of figure model which sometimes luck impressive Africa / Ghanaian features, The artist goal is to produce an interesting unisex anatomy model with waste plastic, poly rubbers and debris that will have a multipurpose use as TLM. This work or project has great relations with the environment and universal sea pure or plastic because it help reduce or replace plastics and debris that are thrown into the environment and finally to the universal sea or water bodies through rainfall. It will also inspire people to consider plastic and debris as a raw material for other useful productions of useful materials instead of waste assumptions. Generally no human want to live in an unclean environment so it is for the aquatic folks. Let us all universally join hands to make the universal sea clean and pure from plastics for a better healthy life. for more mind blowing art crusade on plastic pollution on the universal sea check --------#www.facebook.com/kojobineynatureart #www.universal-sea.com/user/kojo-biney?profiletab=posts
