Images from Place 2017

Description:
These days with the almost overwhelming barrage of images and information detailing the destruction of our planet, the population at large is becoming increasingly numb, apathetic… I believe that artists would have more success getting their messages across in subtler ways… It is important to create something that is initially intriguing, before subtle messages have a chance to permeate… Art is there to encourage thought rather than shove message down throats… The images supplied are from an exhibition in July 2017 where everything was created onsite using my own amassed plastic waste… I am only one person, yet can generate so much waste… Most of the materials in this exhibition have been used in previous exhibitions, but in different ways… For me, rather than reusing one plastic bottle to create one piece of art, I prefer to use the same material again and again to create many ephemeral works…
