Seaweed is emerging as a valuable resource in Europe, driven by growing demand for sustainable solutions across food, feed, cosmetics, bio-based chemicals, fertilizers, biofuels, and even building materials. Its unique biochemical properties and broad applications are fueling interest, while ongoing R&D continues to unlock new potential. However, the sector faces challenges in regulation, cost, and market viability that could slow its expansion.
To address these issues and foster innovation, Seagriculture EU 2026 will bring together leading experts to share insights on seaweed for food, feed, offshore cultivation, biorefinery, and more. Since 2012, the Seagriculture conference has established itself as the premier event for the European seaweed industry. Its 14th edition in Rotterdam welcomed over 200 delegates from 26 countries. The 2026 edition will continue this tradition, promoting collaboration and sustainable growth in the seaweed sector.
