The A’Pelago Initiative 2025 adopts the theme “The Ocean Starts Here”, highlighting the urgency of collective action to protect our shared ocean. All waters are interconnected—no sea can be restored in isolation. For many, that journey begins in the Finnish Archipelago of the Baltic Sea, a vulnerable yet innovative marine region often seen as a testing ground for global solutions.

This theme is both a call to action and a reminder: even a fragile sea like the Baltic holds immense potential for regeneration, innovation, and blue economy development.

Event Overview:

On August 20–21, 2025, the initiative will bring together entrepreneurs, scientists, investors, policymakers, and NGOs to accelerate blue innovation and cooperation. Across two days of discussions and networking, Finland’s coastal regions will be showcased as a hub for sustainable ocean solutions.
