ZuKunst is a place of learning and experience for sustainable leisure in Hanover, a space of opportunity for culture and social change and the association space and office of Makers For Humanity e.V.
This ongoing float project started as an art installation for the world-fair EXPO2000 in Hanover/Germany. Over time it developed into an international series of multi-purpose floats and initiated the Makers-For-Humanity collective for cooperative action for common benefits. Temporary interdisciplinary teams build floating islands for culture, education, ecology and social innovation on different water-bodies world-wide.
At the end of April 2025, in the city of Hannover, we will join the Open Islands initiative and event aboard the Kulturboot. On this occasion, Nicole Loeser, director of the Institute for Art and Innovation in Berlin, will open the agenda with a welcome and an introduction to the journey.
