A team of The Universal Sea (Kata Szeder from Hybridart and Nicole Loeser from the Institute for Art and Innovation) is participating in the “Microplastics in the Danube” conference at the WESSLING Knowledge center in Budapest! Both were invited by Gábor Szunyogh and Gábor Bordós. The conference starts at 9:30 and The Universal Sea will present at 12:00 o’clock.

WESSLING Hungary Kft., along with its partners, launched a challenging project in spring 2009 with the aim of examining the level of microplastics in the Danube river. The researchers will present the facts of their survey for the first time to the public.

Besides the presentation of the measurement results, questions about the global risks caused by microplastics will be raised as well as the needed collaboration of Hungarian authorities and water agencies, and methods of promoting science.

Almost a year ago we published a short movie about this issue and are very curious how WESSLING will tackle this problem.
