MOoW presents The Universal Sea: Art Exhibition, Book Launch and Symposium.
Made Out of WHAT is bringing together artists, scientists, environmental leaders and activists from around the world to participate in an unprecedented series of events surrounding The Universal Sea art exhibition: a book launch, symposium, dance party and more!
The event will kick off with an art exhibition and book launch of The Universal Sea, Pure or Plastic? The opening party will feature international artists who have transformed consumer waste into powerful visual manifestos, a performance, drinks and hors d’oeuvres, and more.
The exhibition will be open for viewing during Chinatown Summer Nights, an evening of music and dancing on the Central Plaza with food trucks and shopping.
Our symposium will follow featuring a panel of distinguished speakers from around the globe addressing a spectrum of solutions to the plastic emergency. There will be artwork on display from a student competition entitled Junk Battle and more.
To wrap up the exciting event series, come to our Closing Party. There will be a trash Virtual Reality experience and live music played on instruments crafted from detritus.
