My Costume + Puppet Seahorse I and Seahorse II is a project I started in 2018 that is a reflection on my concern regarding the issue with the plastic in the oceans and the leaving creatures that depend on the marine world. All materials for this project are reused – various plastic, fabric remnants, paper (I have collected from relocation packaging), wire, old shoes. The idea behind the project is to incorporate a puppet and a costume to design one of a kind pieces of art with various application and potential suitable for dance performances, storytelling, puppetry, and fashion. It is intentionally lightweight, so the human body could feel comfortable in it so that it can move and perform. Submitting my project, I truly intend to support “The Universal Sea – Pure or Plastic!?” book project. I strongly believe in the power of books as a medium to reach people and change minds.
