Description:
Since 2017 I'm designign Plastic Waste Animals after I collected two trash bags of plastic waste at the coasts. After an hour of arranging without any helpers like glue, duct tape or tools – this beautifully new creature came out. After the photo shoot I disposed it in the right trashcan. About this designs PLASTICE WASTE ANIMALS is a design and art project which „Creates asthetic naturals to implement and communicate the problem of plastic waste.“ I redesign pieces of waste into very individual new „animals“. Only with manual and creative arragenments new temporary sculptures are developed. In a last step I take a digital photo of these new born natural beauties and produce a clean print of them. PLASTIC ANAIMALS don‘t want only to provocate or to make us feel guilty rather much more I like to get in contact and interact with the problem of plastic waste. Plastic Waste Animals started in summer 2017, in 2018 a first design worksshop launched in July (with children) and has collected waste and designed creatures in Germany, Spain, France. This year Italy and Denmark will follow. About me I'm a designer, degreed in visual communication at University of Applied Sciences and Art, Hannover, Design & Media. I established my own Company Hesse Blandzinski Design, working since over 15 years as a Corporate- and Web-Designer. Sideline I'm teaching in Design and Interieur Architecture at University of Applied Sciences and Art, Hannover.
