Das nächste Ocean Future Lab Event wird während des Entrepreneurship Summit im Henry-Ford-Bau in der Freien Universität in Berlin präsentiert.
Wir stellen die von einer Expertinnen-Jury drei ausgewählten Teams vor, die im Rahmen des Ocean Future Lab Hackathons ihre Ideen mit Mentor:innen und Teilnehmenden unterschiedlicher Disziplinen weiterentwickelten.
Am 22.10.2022 um 12 Uhr findet für die Teams in der Öffentlichkeit die Preisverleihung der Ocean Future Ambassador Awards im Hörsaal A statt.

Das Festival, das vom 22. bis 23. Oktober stattfindet, ist eine der wichtigsten Veranstaltungen in Deutschland für (junge) Unternehmer:innen, die an nachhaltigen Wertschöpfungsmodellen arbeiten. Die Veranstaltung mit mehr als 100 Expert:innen aus den unterschiedlichsten gesellschaftlichen Bereichen ist so organisiert, dass sich gleichgesinnte Gründer:innen, Visionär:innen und Vordenker:innen treffen und ihre Ideen präsentieren und diskutieren können.
Der nachhaltige Umgang mit den Küsten, Meeren und Ozeanen ist eine gesellschaftliche Herausforderung, die uns alle angeht.
Die besten drei Ideen, die im Ocean Future Lab (weiter) entwickelt wurden, werden auf dem Entrepreneurship Summit der Öffentlichkeit vorgestellt. Das OFL bietet Raum für die co-kreative und inspirierende Gestaltung von Zukunftsszenarien für Meere und Menschen. Bürger:innen sind eingeladen, im Austausch mit Künstler:innen und Wissenschaftler:innen Zukunftsideen und Handlungsmöglichkeiten zu entwickeln und zu visualisieren.
Das Ocean Future Lab ist ein Projekt des „Wissenschaftsjahres 2022 – Nachgefragt!“ und wird vom Bundesministerium für Bildung und Forschung gefördert. Partner sind die Deutsche Allianz Meeresforschung, das Institute for Art and Innovationsowie das Deutsche Meeresmuseum, das Deutsche Schifffahrtsmuseum.
The Ocean Future Lab next event will take place during the Entrepreneurship Summit in the Henry Ford Building of the Free University in Berlin.
We present the three teams selected by an expert jury, who further developed their ideas with mentors and participants from different disciplines as part of the Ocean Future Lab Hackathon.
The ceremony of the Ocean Future Ambassador Award will take place on October 22, 2022 at 12:00 CET in lecture hall A.

The topic of the Ocean Future Lab is the development of positive futures for the oceans: “How do we want to live with the oceans? – How can we deal with the coasts, seas and oceans so sustainably that we can secure our natural sources of life, and design desirable futures of our “blue planet“?
The sustainable use of coasts, seas and oceans is a social challenge that affects everyone and requires both factual knowledge and values, addressing needs and desires of people. The participatory and interdisciplinary Ocean Future Lab is designed as a place for the co-creative design of future scenarios for oceans and people; as a platform for civil participation, to address social transformations in the exchange between science and society.
At the beginning of 2022, the Ocean Future Lab project started with an Open Call to creatives and innovators: How do we want to live with the oceans? All accepted submissions were then showcased in an online gallery where the public could vote for their favorite idea. Eventually, seven teams were selected to accelerate their ideas together with experts and mentors in the Ocean Future Lab Hackathon in September. Between May and August, also three online and three offline workshops took place. Citizens were invited to develop and visualize ideas for the future and possible courses of action in exchange with artists and scientists.
At the Entrepreneurship Summit, the three most promising ideas will be presented to the public. All teams are also open for a Q&A session.
The Ocean Future Lab is a project of the “Science Year 2022 – Participate!”. It is funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research. Partners are the German Alliance for Marine Research, the Institute for Art and Innovations, the German Oceanographic Museum Stralsund and the German Maritime Museum Bremerhaven.
