Title:
,,plastic in progress", Part I, 2017/18

Author:
Janne Roefke

Category:
RE-act

Description:
The second collage of Part I of the art work ,,plastic in progress" is made of three different plastic bags types collected in different countries in different ways. One was a customer bag given with new clothes in a common clothes store, same bag as in the first collage described. It is the one that gives the pink coloured frame with the maritime illustrations on it and is so linked to the other collage in the aquarium . The second one was received as part of a gift both made in the United Kingdom and donated all the red animal and human images. The third plastic bag was bought in a second hand shop in Riga, Latvia as an original left over from the UdSSR era and is visible in the centre of the collage as the swallow and the globe. This collage is visualizing a screen shot of the dynamic and the order of the world in which humans interact or interacted so far with each other, with animals, the hierarchy between them and the felt moment of the plastification of the environment trough human existence.
